I Lie to Myself Every Morning
I look in the mirror and tell myself:
“I slept great.”
“Today will be one of the best days of my life.”
“I am world-class.”
Some mornings, none of that feels true.
But after decades in real estate and business, I’ve learned something important:
Every success begins as a belief before it becomes a result.
Before you win the listing, you must believe you belong at the table.
Before you build a strong pipeline, you must believe opportunities are available.
Before you become a top listing agent, you must start thinking and acting like one.
Yet many agents wake up and immediately hand control of their day to their phones, bank accounts, empty pipelines, difficult clients, or yesterday’s problems. They haven’t even gotten out of bed, and they’ve already decided the day will be terrible.
Don’t do that.
Make positive self-talk one of your daily Minimum Standards. When someone asks how I’m doing, my answer is always:
World-class.
Not because everything is perfect. Because I’m training my mind for where I’m going—not where I’ve been. The “lie” eventually catches up with the truth. Just make sure you’re telling yourself the right one.
To your success,
Your Listing Business Needs Three Streams
Your Listing Business Needs Three Streams
If all your listings come from one place, you do not have a stable business.
You have one fragile pipe—and when it dries up, panic sets in.
Every listing agent should have at least three active listing streams. For example:
Your sphere of influence
Probate attorneys and estate professionals
Expired listings or out-of-area owners
No single stream will produce results every week. Your sphere may go quiet. Expireds may slow down. A relationship with a probate attorney may take months to produce a listing.
But when three streams are working together, your pipeline becomes much more predictable.
Here is where agents mess this up: They try ten different strategies for two days each. Nothing works because they never stick with anything long enough.
Instead, choose three listing streams that fit your strengths. Then create a daily Minimum Standard for each one.
That could mean five sphere conversations, three professional introductions, and five expired-owner contacts each day.
Small actions. Three streams. Every day.
That is how you stop wondering where your next listing will come from—and start building a listing business you can count on.
