Should I make the call? Should I follow up? Should I work out—or make another excuse? Should I save the money—or spend it? Should I take action—or wait until everything feels perfect?

One question helps me cut through the noise:

What would my future self do right now?

Not the tired version of me.

Not the fearful version.

And certainly not the version looking for the easiest way out.

I ask the wiser, healthier, wealthier, and more successful version of myself:

How would he act? What would he say? What choice would he make?

Your future is not created by one giant decision. It is created through the small choices you make every day.

So, the next time you feel stuck, pause and ask:

What would my future self want me to do right now?

Then do it—even if your present self starts whining.

Your future self already knows the way.
